Topic title: Mirror glass

Now an extra problem. I had a good stash of very thin glass I bought donkeys years ago, and now I have eventually got the hang of cutting it, and need to do a load of 'new' windows, to my horror I have found this morning that it has run out. Can't find anywhere on line to get any more, so if anyone can direct me, I would be really grateful.

That is what I have been doing, so maybe there just weren't any new posts at that time. I see there is a bit more chat now, as we are stuck at home and trying to keep sane.

When I click on most recent posts it comes up with ones months ago. Before, it told us the most recent and you could click on that directly, but now it really doesn't work.

I just don't understand how this site, and especially the forums, are supposed to work. It says at the top that the most recent post was 2 hours ago, but when you scroll through, there's nothing more recent than 2 weeks ago. It is a real shame that it doesn't seem to work well, because in these awful, frightening times we need to keep in touch with friends and like-minded collectors, to keep our spirits up.

Probably everyone is too busy and distracted to try and sort these glitches out, but I fear the new website will die before it has really got started, and goodness knows, we need it. Isolation is so depressing, it is good to know everyone is pulling together, somehow, even if only on line.

Thanks. Our really local glass cutters are not very helpful. The boys who do it are fine, but the lady boss got so annoyed with me coming in with tiny templates for a conservatory I was trying to restore, that I started to do it myself. I can manage the straight edges now (with a few breakages along the way) but no way I could do an oval shape. And then of course you have the added problem of mirror glass. All the businesses have very thick glass, which is too heavy for what I need. But I will keep trying, and ask a bit further afield.

Topic title: How do I make white paint colour less white?

Bear in mind that if you paint a light colour over a darker one, it will appear bluer. It is called the turbid medium effect. So you have to slightly warm the overpaint colour. It is trickier than it sounds to match colours, and really you need to experiment mixing different paints till you get it right.

Although I can access the website on my iPad, on the computer (where all my photos are) it still says you are down for 'gremlins' and I can't get it to reboot. Any suggestions? Also I have found that you still have to log in every time you use the site, which I thought they were going to sort out. Help please. Liza.

Topic title: Back to all things dolls' house

A dear friend has given me two beautiful bodies complete with arms and legs, but no heads. She said she had been looking for heads for them for about fifty plus years but given up hope of finding any so passed them on to me. Both are slightly bigger than doll's house scale and one is a Kister with a wooden body and beautiful china limbs. The other is a headless Grodnertal. I don't suppose I will be any luckier than her , but if anyone ever hears of a head looking for means of locomotion, please let me know. I only mention it on here as I am always looking out for info on small dolls too.

An extra plea, for when you update the odd thing, maybe tomorrow? Please can you add a category for food? I don't think having it as an entry in 'Identity parade' would mean anyone wanting to research it would find it, unless they had noticed new photos being added. I know you have added the tagging, but I have no idea how this works, and would it guide people there?
