"I went out for a pint last night and heard something very interesting", he said to Norah and Bryan. "I heard that the East Ender who arrived last summer in that grand glass hearse, drawn by black horses, plumes and all - without a by your leave or a please would you dig me a six inch long hole - SO inconsiderate but that's just typical of your Dol-Toi especially a member of the Mafia. He's been nothing but trouble, a real nasty piece of work"
"So?" queried Bryan, but Vlad was never one to be hurried. "I learnt two interesting facts," he continued. "Facts that may well affect his flying capabilities and his landings." At this point he glanced cautiously at Bryan - who clenched both his fists and fervently hoped that Boris was taking his balcony watching duties seriously. "We know that Dol-Tois suffer from extreme stiffness of the limbs, both in life and in death, and this causes them many difficulties in expressing themselves and could also affect any dexterous moves when airborne..." and here he paused again but Norah interrupted him saying "But you said that there were two things ...." "I'm coming to that," said Vlad patiently. Norah rolled her eyes but said no more, she knew how Vlad always liked to take his time. "They are colourblind - as colourblind as my handsome hound, River. This could cause confusion on their night flying expeditions." He gave out this last piece of information with a flourish of his left hand. "Well I'll be b*******!" Norah let the expletive slip out from between her lips before she could stop it. Bryan and Vlad looked at each other in amazement.
